The TS 420 features all the high-performance features of the TS 410 – including a long-life filter system with cyclone pre-separation for a clean and smooth-running engine and virtually maintenance-free filters. With the added benefit of a 350mm cutting wheel, it will handle cuts up to 125mm in depth. Its compact design and optimised balance enables excellent cutting and guide characteristics.   • SEMI-AUTOMATIC STIHL BELT TENSIONING: EXTENDS THE BELT’S SERVICE LIFE. Semi-automatic STIHL belt tensioning makes it easier for you to re-tension the drive belt. All you need is to adjust the adjustment screw with your spark plug wrench. Consistent tension extends the service life of the belt and bearing. For more detailed information on re-tensioning, please refer to the operating instructions of your power tool.
  • STIHL 2-MIX engine with stratified charge system: 2-stroke engine with stratified charge. A fuel-free layer of air is created between the burned charge in the combustion chamber and the fresh charge in the crankcase, reducing the amount of fuel lost during the charge cycle. This results in more power with a lower weight, up to 20% lower fuel consumption than regular 2-stroke engines and significantly reduced exhaust emissions.
  • ERGONOMIC HANDLE: FOR PRECISE GUIDANCE. With the ergonomic handle, you can keep a firm grip on your power tool and carry out cuts precisely, even when dealing with very hard stone. The curved handle offers you an optimized grip position and the highest level of comfort when working.
  • LONG-LIFE AIR FILTER SYSTEM FOR CUT-OFF MACHINES: ENSURES A LONG FILTER SERVICE LIFE. The long-life air filter system for cut-off machines does not collect coarse dust particles but uses cyclone air routing to separate them and then discharges them into the ambient air. With just this first step the system removes around 80% of dust particles in the intake air. This enables an extremely long filter service life and makes the tool easy to maintain.
  • MAGNESIUM GUARD: LIGHTWEIGHT AND STABLE. The cutting wheel guard ensures that you are not hit by flying cut material or cooling water from the cutting wheel. The cast magnesium guard is very lightweight and robust.
  • Manual fuel pump (Purger): A small fuel pump delivers fuel to the carburetor at the touch of a button. This reduces the number of starting strokes required following extended breaks in operations.
  • Decompression valve: The decompression valve allows some of the compression pressure in the cylinder to escape, so less force on the starter rope is needed.
  • WATER CONNECTION: FOR DUST BINDING AND COOLING. When working with your power tool, a permanent water supply is provided for flushing the cutting wheel. It is used to bind dust and cool the cut. With the water connection directly on the power tool, this rinsing is easy and permanently assured.
  • Anti-vibration system: Intense vibration at the handles of power tools can lead to long-term effects on blood vessels in the hands and arms. STIHL has therefore developed an effective anti-vibration system whereby the oscillations from the machine’s engine are dampened which significantly reduces vibrations at the handles.
