GP Lawnmowers Refund & Return Policy

At GP Lawnmowers, customer satisfaction is a priority. We are committed to complying with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) of South Africa. Please read our policy carefully to understand your rights and our responsibilities regarding returns and refunds.


1. Cooling-Off Period for Online Purchases (ECTA Compliance)

If you purchase a product through our online store, you are entitled to cancel the purchase within 7 days of receiving the goods, as per Section 44 of the ECTA.

  • You may return the product for a full refund, provided:

    • The item is unused, in original packaging, and in a resalable condition.

    • You notify us in writing within 7 days of delivery.

    • Return shipping is at your own cost unless the item was defective or delivered in error.

Exceptions: This cooling-off period does not apply to custom orders, parts made to specification, or perishable goods (e.g. fuel or lubricants).


🛠️ 2. Defective or Faulty Goods (CPA Compliance)

Under Section 56 of the CPA, you are entitled to return defective or unsafe goods within 6 months of purchase for a refund, repair, or replacementyour choice.

  • The defect must not be due to misuse, negligence, or normal wear and tear.

  • We reserve the right to inspect and test the item before approving a return.

  • If a defect is found, we will cover the return shipping and offer:

    • A full refund,

    • A replacement unit,

    • Or a repair, based on your preference.


🛑 3. Non-Returnable Items

To ensure product integrity and safety, the following items cannot be returned, unless faulty on delivery:

  • Used or soiled lawnmowers or garden tools.

  • Consumables (oil, fuel, spark plugs, filters) once opened.

  • Electrical or mechanical parts once installed.

  • Custom-ordered or modified machinery.


🔁 4. Change of Mind Returns (In-Store Purchases)

We do not offer refunds on in-store purchases due to a change of mind. However, at our discretion and subject to item condition and proof of purchase, we may offer:

  • A store credit or exchange within 7 days of purchase.

  • Item must be unopened, unused, and in original condition.


📦 5. Return Process

To initiate a return:

  1. Email us at info@gplawn.co.za with your name, contact details, and proof of purchase.

  2. Indicate whether you'd like a refund, repair, or replacement.

  3. We will assess your request and provide return instructions.


📃 6. Warranty

All our new machines are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty (duration depends on the product). Warranty claims must comply with the manufacturer’s terms. Misuse or unauthorised repairs may void the warranty.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
